Bridgerule in springtime looks stunning when the daffodil lined verges come into flower giving the village a welcome splash of yellow.

It has been many years since Dickie Piper (publican at the time) with his band of helpers — many of whom are still living in the village today — organised a bulb-planting event which delights villagers each spring with this welcome abundance of daffodils.

A picture of this event was recently printed in the village news leaflet 'The Buzz' and from there Sheila and Colin Cholwill began organising a further bulb planting event.

The people of Bridgerule are very grateful to Brooks Garden Centre, Stratton, for donating 40 kilos of daffodil bulbs and these were planted on the banks of the Tamar, a few by the hedge where the village seat is located and some near the village hall.

To make it more of an occasion, Cindy Neep organised a village barbecue and any funds raised will be donated towards the new Bridgerule Hall fund — which is now working towards grants, plans and the much needed fundraising a new hall will require.

It has been decided that the new hall will be built in the area of The Green, where the original hall is.
