People from the Torridge area including Holsworthy are being given more time to comment on how northern Devon may be developed in the future.

A public consultation on the draft Core Strategy was due to end on Thursday, March 4. The planning document, prepared by North Devon Council and Torridge District Council, sets out how, where and when local development takes place up to 2026. However the deadline for local people to comment on the proposals has now been extended until Monday (March 15).

It identifies land to the north west of Holsworthy as a potential area for future housing growth and suggests that the growth in Torrington be accommodated by small-scale urban extensions and rounding off of the existing built form.
