THE Bude-based charity, Exercising For Mobility, had great success at the Volunteer Cornwall annual awards — coming away with two wins.
The charity has won two of Volunteer Cornwall’s annual awards, in recognition of the huge part their volunteers play in caring for the community in Bude and the surrounding rural areas.
On November 19, four volunteers, representing Exercising For Mobility, were invited to attend the awards ceremony at the Atlantic Hotel in Newquay. The charity itself, had been nominated as the Host Charity for 2015.
Janet McCulley, who is the chair trustee of Exercising For Mobility, had also been nominated for Volunteer Supporting Elders.
There were 13 categories and they were the only charity to be nominated for two.
Terence McCulley, a trustee, said that they were all excited about being nominated, but when it was announced that they had won both of these awards, they were “over the moon.”
Exercising For Mobility offers free social exercise classes to adults of any age, who have a long term health problem, or a disability. They are always looking for new members or volunteers.
