AN ex-Royal Marine undertook a 12-hour sponsored swim within the Bude Sea Pool on Saturday, September 21, in aid of Royal Marine (RM) charities.

On the day John Peel, the chair of the North Devon branch of the Royal Marines Association (RMA), was aided and abetted by ex-RAF Mike Culley and his effort was supported by donations of £100 each from the Bude and Stratton Royal British Legion and Bude branch of the Royal Naval Association (RNA).

It is hoped the financial result was of real benefit to the RM charities involved.
