A SCHOOL breakfast club in Launceston has received an abundance of supplies for their early morning starts.

Children from St Stephen's Community Academy's breakfast club received a variety of items from Tesco.

The breakfast club, held every morning from 8am, has gone from strength-to-strength thanks to the hard work of leaders Sharon Baxter and Helen Coole.

A school spokesperson said: "Breakfast clubs have been proven to benefit children and families with improved learning, attendance and behaviour at school, punctuality, healthy eating, social development, and fun through play. This has certainly been the case at St Stephen's."

Launceston Tesco community champion, Shelley Vanstone said: "We were delighted to be able to support the breakfast club with this donation. It was lovely to see so many children enjoying their breakfast. Hopefully the items we have donated will enable the club to go from strength to strength."
