Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co, has announced the sale of Trewiston Lodge Nursing Home in Wadebridge.

Trewiston Lodge Nursing Home is registered for 32 clients and occupies a detached property in the Cornwall village of St Minver, in a semi-rural position only a few miles from the North Cornish coast, Padstow, and Rock.

Since 2006, the home has been owned and operated by Cornish based operator, Blakeshields Ltd, and was recently brought to market through Christie & Co on an extremely discrete and confidential basis. It has now been acquired by a long-standing and experienced, family-run operator which has four other homes in Plymouth and South East Cornwall.

Stephen Godfrey, director at Blakeshields Ltd, comments, “As everyone knows, the sale process can be a long, drawn-out affair for a host of reasons. However, Simon Harvey of Christie & Co was always on hand to help iron out the wrinkles.

“We had a great legal team and, for once, our bankers played ball! Trewiston is a really friendly home, and we wish the buyers every success in this chapter of its journey.”

Simon Harvey, senior director of Care at Christie & Co, who handled the sale, said: “This is the second care home we have sold in Cornwall in as many months and, along with other ongoing activity generally, this is further evidence of the appetite that exists across the county and the wider region from a range of purchasers seeking to acquire care businesses in the South West.”

Trewiston Lodge Nursing Home was sold for an undisclosed price.
