CHILDREN’S charity CHICKS are holding their 16th annual golf day at Trethorne Golf Club, Launceston on Friday, June 24 and are appealing for enthusiastic golfers to join the event.
This year, the charity has ‘hole-in-one’ prizes for all par 3s including a £10,000 prize for a hole-in-one on the eighth hole.
CHICKS provides free respite breaks for disadvantaged children from all over the UK, and has supported over 13,000 children since it began operating in 1992.
Regional fundraiser at CHICKS, Mick Ryan said: “This year, funding permitting, we aim to provide more than 1,200 children with a much needed break. Although the respite breaks are completely free for the children who benefit from them, each child place costs the charity an average of £902. We don’t receive any government funding, so events like this help us raise the vital funds we need to continue our work.
“I’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who has made the Golf Day possible this year.”
Places for the charity golf day are £45 per person and bookings can be made by contacting Mick on 01822 811020 or [email protected]. Full details can be found on the website at www.chicks.org.uk
