MORE than 200 people turned out in Launceston square on a dull, cold Tuesday last week to celebrate this year's beautiful Christmas tree and lights display.
Despite the sudden arrival of winter that day, many people were out and about to celebrate the start of Launceston's Christmas for 2013.
Chamber of commerce members Vicky Geach (chair), Mike Bluett, Sue Issleib and Spencer Magill arranged for the installation of the tree in the square and the lights and banners around the town centre.
The tree, which was kindly donated by John, Melissa, Alice and Katie Barriball, of Lure Heaven , Newport Industrial Estate, is being much admired and considered to be one of the nicest the town has had in recent years.
