THE mayor of Holsworthy invited Mother Elizabeth Burke to continue in her role as council chaplain during the council’s annual meeting held in the Memorial Hall.
Following the mayor choosing, Cllr Helen Parker welcomed Mother Elizabeth Burke to the front as she was to be appointed as the council’s chaplain once again.
Thanking the council, Mother Elizabeth explained what her role as chaplain entails: “Thank you for inviting me to be chaplain again. A chaplain is not here to prophétise, I’m here pastorally for anybody that might want a listening ear or support in any way, but I do pray for all the councillors, and especially the mayor and deputy mayor as well.”
Mother Elizabeth then invited those present to join her in prayer.
