THE MP for Torridge and West Devon has been unanimously reselected by the members of the constituency Conservative Association to stand as the candidate in the General Election next year.
Geoffrey Cox was re-selected at a meeting in the Bickford Arms at Brandis Corner on Friday. He said: "It is a great privilege to represent the people of Torridge and West Devon, and I am extremely grateful to the members of the Conservative Association for reselecting me as the candidate for Torridge and West Devon.
"The recently announced new deal for our schoolchildren, which will help to tackle the historic injustice in funding for our local schools, the campaign for assisted area status for a large part of Torridge that we are so close to achieving, the freezing of council tax, real improvements in pensions and the discount on our water bills in the South West are some of the practical local help that the Government has delivered already, but there is much more that can be done as our long term economic plan bears fruit."
