KATIE Marriott, General Manager of the historic Jamaica Inn on Bodmin Moor, has won a prestigious national award recognising her leadership and commitment.

The 34-year-old received the Unlocking Future Potential trophy at the Coaching Inn Group’s annual black-tie gala awards at The Engine Shed in Lincoln.

The event brought together teams from 42 hotels and inns across the UK. Katie, who lives near Launceston, joined Jamaica Inn as Assistant Manager after working in retail management before rising to become General Manager. She continued in the role when the Coaching Inn Group took over the inn four years ago.

Katie was also recently a finalist at the UK Company Culture Awards and praised by Managing Director Adam Charity for her drive and enthusiasm.
