THE town council in Launceston has appealed to residents to take care of their facilities including the public toilets, after four new rolls of paper were stolen.

The council said the rolls were taken from the Newport toilets and is not the first time rolls of paper have been taken.

It runs every public toilet in the town, and a spokesperson for the council said: “A polite request though, to the people of this town: Please stop abusing these facilities.

“If keeping these services open becomes unaffordable we will have no choice but to close them. So please, good people of Launceston, please don’t steal from or vandalise your public conveniences.”
