TINTAGEL Carnival was bigger, better and more successful than ever this year, according to committee member Phil Aston.

The 10th anniversary of the 'new' carnival saw the largest amount of entries yet recorded, with the event lasting longer and raising more money than ever before.

Donations this year will go towards carnival funding, to allow purchases for new equipment to be made for the future. Previous years have seen big donations made to local charities.

A very happy Phil said:?"The weather stayed nice, and the whole carnival went off without a hitch. The village was packed and the local businesses were all open too; it was a fantastic atmosphere."

The highlight, he continued, was seeing the amount of effort put in by everyone to ensure it was such a success.

"From the seven-year-old boy walking in his Transformers costume, to the float with the dancing nuns, everyone turned out to give their support to the carnival. People put their everything into helping out, and it all really came together well."

Tintagel Carnival Committee is always looking for new members to join, and you can contact Phil on 07551 657513 for more information about how to get involved.
