PETE Vickery of Bude Surf Life Saving Club had a pleasant surprise when he came to give a talk to the Rotary Club of Bude.

Following the after-dinner speech, given by Mr Vickery (Vicko), about his hilarious travels in 1968 to Australia as a £10 pom, he was presented with a cheque for £250 by the club’s president, Bob Willingham.

Bob explained that it was in recognition of the continued support that the surf club has given the Rotary Club on the recent Great Atlantic charity walk.
