THE Launcells/Bude Dog Training and Agility Group were delighted to present two cheques on Friday, December 2, at the Band Stand, Camelford.

£3,000 was presented to Mr Tony Webb, representing Guide Dogs for the Blind Association, with his dog ranger and, a cheque for £2,000 to Karen Balsdon-Johnson, representing the Cinnamon Trust who help the elderly with their pets.

The money was raised through dog training and agility classes, weekly lotteries and dog shows etcetera, throughout the past years. The group received three photographs from Guide Dogs for the Blind in gratitude, in memory of Bingo, a red fox Labrador who belonged to Crystal Petuin; Jess, a rescued spaniel who belonged to Chris Leach; and Shadow, a German shepherd who belonged to trainer, Kathleen Adams.

All three dogs are now deceased, but they worked extremely hard with their owners, helping to raise funds for charity, and are much missed by the group.

Kathleen said: “The group give a big thank you to everyone who has attended our training classes or helped at our fundraising events in the past years and, to all the present attendees at St Clether who have raised funds or helped in any way. We look forward to raising more funds in the future”.
