A GREAT day was had at the recent St Breward Carnival, held on Saturday, July 6.

The day welcomed a huge variety of entries during the procession, with appearances from Dorothy and Toto, Mickey and Minnie Mouse, the Spice Maids and pirates, amongst others.

Starting at 6pm, the parade processed up to the football club, where entrants and carnival-goers could then unwind for the evening with refreshments.

One carnival-goer said: “The atmosphere is electric and it’s amazing to see everyone giving so much support to the carnival and encouraging the carnival up the hill and up to the football field. I really enjoyed it and that’s what it’s all about!”

One highlight was the traditional ice cream cart that made its way through the village to the field, selling Kelly’s Cornish ice cream at just 50p!

A spokesperson from the carnival committee said: “It was a proper village carnival with lots of fun and sun!”
