AROUND 60 members of the public squeezed into rooms two and three of the Parkhouse Centre on Monday night to discuss with members of Cornwall Council, Bude-Stratton Town Council and the Bude Community Area Network the future of Higher Wharf.

There was over an hour of time for members of the public to voice their opinions and ask questions of the gathered authority members.

It is now clear that Cornwall Council intend to sell the land at Higher Wharf — albeit nobody knows when this will be, a Higher Wharf Action Group (HiWAG) spokesperson?said. The vote will be made in cabinet at some point in the future, and the land will be made available for sale publicly.

Disappointment was expressed in the failure by Cornwall Council to consider both the HiWAG petition and a town council survey (undertaken with the assistance of a polling agency) — which were given to ward members in November 2010 — in making its decision.
