THE pitch and putt facility at Bude could be given a new lease of life if plans to construct a building on the Crooklets Road site are given the go-ahead.

Bude-Stratton Town Councill is considering replacing the facility's existing premises, which comprise unused changing rooms, an equipment storage area and a small café, with a new build available in 2015 — a recent survey of the existing building highlighted some serious damp problems.

The new building would have more room for a tenant to develop the pitch and putt and café, which has long been an established asset for Bude.

The pitch and putt is adjacent to a tennis court.?While it is possible reinstatement of the court could take place if there is demand for it, part of the area could become a car park.

The proposal would also allow a prospective tenant to develop up to half of the grass tennis court area, subject to agreement with the town council.
