THE hanging baskets outside of Les's Secondhand Shop in Madford Lane, Launceston, are still thriving despite most of the hanging baskets in the town being taken down about a week ago. Les Bryant said he is convinced the reason the plants are still so healthy is because of the techno music he plays in the shop and the fact he talks to the plants every day. Les said: "I play techno music every afternoon before I shut at around 4 to 5pm and they always look better the next day. They need lots and lots of water, I give them around three kettles a day and I talk to them so that they don't feel lonely, else they wilt." Les added: "I think they will last another two to three months, there is new shoots and they are looking really good. If anyone would like to see the flowers just come round to the shop."
