STUDENTS from North Cornwall Youth Theatre Group ‘Starmakers’ took part in a Guinness Book World Record attempt in aid of this year’s Children in Need fundraising event in Boscastle on Sunday, November 20.

Each child learned a tap routine, choreographed by The Performers Project. The aim was to have the most dancers executing the same routine at the same time across the nation simultaneously. Last year nearly 7,500 dancers took part and this year they are striving for more.

In total £271.86 was raised by the children from Boscastle, Delabole, Tintagel and Camelford. The youngest tapper was six and the oldest...at least 36!

Morwenna Gee, group leader, who has more than 15 years of professional experience in dance, singing and drama, said: “A huge well done to all the dancers who spent weeks prepping and all the mums who helped out on the day.”

The participants were: Katy Bright, Lily Bright, Betty Sellars-Page, Gracie Sellars, Liam Templar, Zara Templar, Jowan Gee, Lamorna Gee, Emma Brocklehurst, Ruby Keat, Sharon Reed, Hannah Reed, Lily Tremain, Keely Christie, Sophie Edwards, Emily Carnon, Katie Mead, Sorcha Mead, Annabell Potter, Star Isabella Trick, Abbey Smalley, Morwenna Gee.

Starmakers offers dance, voice and theatre classes to both primary and secondary age children in Boscastle, Tintagel and Delabole.
