A CHRISTMAS concert held by Bude Town Band to raise funds for their new hall has been declared a great success.

The band was joined at the Falcon Hotel for the evening by West Country comedian Tank Sherman. The band took the lead in the first half of the concert, performing Christmas music and carols. There was also a Christmas poem read by the band's youngest member, Carly Inch.

Proceedings were handed over to Tank for the second half of the concert, and he had the audience in tears of laughter with his humorous tales and jokes.
