AT their next concert on September 24, The Bude Concert Orchestra conducted by Barry Carrington Moule will present John Osborne as the featured soloist.
John is an extremely talented clarinettist who will be performing the Clarinet Concerto Op 36 by Krommer.
John has been playing the clarinet since the age of ten and began his musical career after doctors recommended he should play a wind instrument to assist his breathing as he suffered from asthma.
John lists his highlights as playing bass clarinet in the Nutcracker ballet and also playing clarinet in the Opera Southwest production of The Magic Flute in South Wales.
John is a busy dairy farmer and when a photo appeared in the paper with an award winning cow after The Royal Cornwall Show, orchestra members were very quick to suggest suitable one liners including ‘come to the concert and hear beautiful moosic’ and ‘udderly marvellous playing’.
John is also surrounded by music at home. He is married to Michelle, a peripatetic music teacher, and is a very proud dad of three daughters, all of whom are following in their parents’ footsteps — playing French horn, piano and cello respectively.
Those who have seen him play in the past look forward to hearing more from John and his talented family in the future.
The orchestra will be delighted to welcome anyone to come along and enjoy listening to this most powerful performance from John as he showcases this prolific Czech composer’s work.
The programme for the concert also includes the Overture to The Pirates of Penzance by Sullivan, Vltava by Smetana and will finish with Schubert’s Symphony No 8 known as ‘The Unfinished’
The concert will take place at The Parkhouse Centre, Bude, at 7.30pm and there will be light refreshments in the interval.
