The Padstow to Rock Swim Committee want to say a massive thank you for the support given to the Padstow to Rock Swim over the years.
The enthusiasm on the day, and the monies raised for Marie Curie is just awesome. It inspired the committee, corporate sponsors, assisting organisations, friends and helpers on the day, without whose help the committee could not run the swim.
The figure for the 2022 swim now stands at £86,451, which brings the cumulative total to just over £850,000, which is all down to the efforts of local swimmers.
Peter Tamblin, chairman of the swim committee said: “However, I am sure that no one wants to rest on their laurels, so I would like to propose a challenge to anyone who would like to enter this iconic fundraising challenge. The challenge, over the next two swims is, “Let’s Make It a Million”. Yes, a million pounds for Marie Curie by the end of 2024.
“We can do it with fundraising support, and what an achievement it would be. Now I know that some people may say it’s another ask in difficult times, and I would agree. But, it’s an opportunity to do something rather special, a unique opportunity, that I believe we should all grasp and give it a go.”
The entry ballot is now open but will close on November 30 for the next Padstow to Rock Swim, which is taking place on Sunday, July 30, on the afternoon tide. To download the entry form and for more details visit www.mariecurie.org.uk/padstowswim
