THE second meeting of the new Holsworthy area support group for people with lung conditions was held in Chilsworthy Village Hall on Wednesday, February 20, writes Christine Williams.

Justin Parsons, Southwest regional support and development manager of the British Lung Foundation, travelled all the way from Weston-super-Mare to be there.

He explained that one in five people suffer from some form of lung condition and that the BLF works throughout the UK to improve their lives. There are some 250 affiliated 'Breathe Easy' groups but they also support any independent group starting up.

Their helpline 03000 030555 can be contacted to get expert advice and information and the Pen-pals scheme and web community can put people in touch with others in a similar situation.
