On July 14 Camelford 'A' were home to Bude 'A' who four points to one victors in the County League fixture.  On an absolutely foul evening, with more rain than dry patches, rink three was the home success.  The home team on rink two had the 'pleasure' of seeing some excellent bowling from the visiting skip, Steve Jones (Cornwall Singles Champion): F Bennett, N Wright, R Shillaber, B Gosling 12-22; A Simon, C Jasper, D Taylor, S Hambly 11-19; F Davey, E Lowe, C Parsons, P Buck 22-13.

The following evening and what a contrast in the weather - fine and warm with no hint of wind. The 'Bs' of Camelford and Kensey Vale clashed, at Camelford.  This resulted in one point for the hosts, achieved almost on the last end on rink three: H Dunk, F Hyett, D Taylor, T Bailey 13-27; F Bennett, N Wright, R Edmonds, D Cook 20-19; E Smith, C Jasper, R Staple, M Prout 16-25.

After the game Captain Neill Wright treated the players to a last home match drink in appreciation of their efforts in holding on to second place in the league.  Neill's wife, Pam, was presented with a bouquet of flowers in appreciation of her help in clearing up the drinks accoutrements after the tea-time breaks, all season.

Bob Edmonds: all the players on the evening, including the guests, were grateful for your efforts in supplying a slice of quiche, cheese and pineapple and biscuits for the half time sojourn.

The Camelford Ladies on July 6 had a Date Cup encounter against Stratton at Stratton resulting in the visitors losing overall by the tightest of margins 24-25. A dry day made the game that much more enjoyable: D Jones, M Shillaber, J Griffiths 9-11; M Iles, M Davis, P Tolhurst 15-14.

On the 10th a Benevolent Two Wood Pairs competition involved the Camelford ladies.  At Callington Pat Tolhurst and Marion Davis were knocked out in the first round but Joan Griffiths and Margaret Shillaber played a long session of three games and progressed to be eliminated at the semi-final stage. At Saltash Diana Jones and Maggi Iles got through the first round but ended their campaign at the next.

Another Date Cup clash at Camelford saw the home team well beaten by visiting Callington:  H Smeeth, D Jones, M Shillaber 13-17; M Iles, M Davis, P Tolhurst 11-22.
