BUDE cashier Sue Chafe has completed the Race For Life for the third time, in memory of her father. She said: "I decided to do the race in memory of my dad who died of cancer eight years ago, also my sister Brenda and brother-in-law Melvyn, who have both survived having cancer." This year Sue completed the race in Barnstaple and raised £250 for Cancer Research, which will be matched by employers NatWest. She said: "To raise extra money this year I have put a donation bucket in the banking hall and I am holding a raffle where all the prizes have been donated by local shops." Thanks have been extended to everyone who supported the run and kindly donated, including Margaret Frost of Northcott Mouth Tea Rooms who held collections. For the full report, and a round-up of the area news and sport, see this week's edition of the Post.
