THE Whitstone Ladies’ Skittles teams attended the Holsworthy Skittle League’s annual awards dinner at Holsworthy Golf Club on May 4.

All had a great time and the food and atmosphere were said to both be superb.

This year they came away with quite a few trophies, certificates and Dartington Crystal. Whitstone collected the First Division Aggregate Cup and the Challenge Cup. Team B collected the cup for being the runners up in the First Division. Sharon Joint collected the Secretary’s Cup. Linda Lyle, Marion Heard and Sharon were each awarded a Dartington Crystal vase for making it into the Holsworthy Devon County Teams.

The Devon County Championship was played on May 12, two of Whitstone’s players, Sharon and Marion, were in Holsworthy Team A and Linda was in Holsworthy Team B. Both teams played excellently, which resulted in a Holsworthy dominated final. Team B was victorious and Linda is the team’s county champion! Congratulations went to Linda, Sharon and Marion. A spokesperson said: “You all did Whitstone Ladies’ Skittles Club proud!”

The team hope the forthcoming season will be just as successful, but no matter what the next season brings they will all enjoy themselves.
