University, apprenticeships, and employment await Budehaven Community School students after an impressive results day.

The school’s young people have been celebrating another year of excellent A-Level and Level 3 examination results, with many of this year’s cohort surpassing expectations and securing opportunities for their next stages.

Headteacher Dominic Wilkes praised the determination, resilience and hard work of Year 13, recognising their achievements across a broad range of academic and vocational pathways.

"This year's results reflect the commitment, perseverance and ambition of our students,” he said. “We are incredibly proud of not only the grades they have achieved, but also the personal growth and resilience they have shown throughout their time with us. These results will open doors to exciting futures and represent the culmination of many years of hard work."

Among the standout performers was Nancy Yearby, who achieved an exceptional A, A and A*, making her one of the highest attaining students in the year group. Amy Johns also secured an outstanding set of A, A, A and B grades, while Millie Adams achieved three A grades, demonstrating consistent excellence across her subjects.

Other high achievers included:

  • Molly Turner, who achieved an impressive A, B and D** profile.
  • Luke Palmer, who secured A, B and B grades.
  • Cody Cleave, who gained an A*, A and C combination.
  • Kieran Quinn-O'Connor, who achieved an A grade alongside two C grades.
  • Chloe Martyn, who earned an excellent A and three C grades.
  • Erin Hunter, who achieved an impressive A, B and Distinction*.
  • Ashlee Lawrence, who achieved a Merit, a Distinction and a Distinction *.

The school has expressed its pride after analysis showed numerous instances of students performing above expectation across a variety of subjects.

Mr Wilkes added: "At Budehaven, we believe in educating young people to lead better lives. Today is about celebrating individual journeys as much as grades. Whether students are progressing to highly competitive university courses, apprenticeships, employment or further training, we are immensely proud of what they have achieved.

Staff, parents and carers joined students in celebrating the results this morning, with many students already confirming destinations at universities across the country, higher-level apprenticeships and employment opportunities.
