“On your bike” took on a completely different meaning at St Stephen’s Community Academy this week.

Students have been having an amazing time getting involved with Bikeability sessions. During the course, they have been learning new skills and applying them in new situations, as well as developing their safety skills when riding a bike on the road.

Maura Furber, headteacher at the school said: “As a school a key target in our Sustainability School Plan is to review how we travel to school and find ways to make travel more eco friendly. This is particularly linked to air pollution around the Launceston area and our health and well being.

“We look forward to seeing more of the children riding their bikes or using their scooters to come to school rather than coming by car. We have a bike rack waiting for the children to fill!”
