STUDENTS have designed a play area for a Tintagel nursery incorporating six areas of learning.
Early Birds Nursery was looking at updating the outside play area and contacted Duchy College Stoke Climsland to see if the students could help. Nursery manager Jenny Ahern was delighted when the college agreed.
Level 3 childcare students and their tutor visited the nursery and held a consultation with children, staff and parents. They returned with a plan with all six areas of learning as identified by the Early Years Foundation Stage.
Leigh Burman, deputy nursery manager, said: "We are all excited about seeing the plan become a reality. The students took on board that we don't have a lot of money available and so have worked hard to ensure the plan is within budget. We are looking forward to seeing it develop over the next few months."
