STRATTON Bowling Club's annual trip to Torquay was, as always, a great success, writes Dave Clark.
Thanks must go to Kevin Smale for his slick running of the event. Sad to say, no-one did anything stupid this year, so no funnies to report. We lost as usual, against teams who play 5 times a week as apposed to 3 times a year.for us. We all enjoyed ourselves despite this.
The competition winners were Sue Plumstead and Gordon Croud. It was thought, at one time that Angie Croud had won, which would have been a bit much as she had already won £260 on the bingo!

Good to see Wendy back and bowling so well after her operation.
In the Stephens League our first game of 2009 brought us a Woolsery team recently relegated fron Division 1 and obviously in the mood to return. We did well to only drop 1/2 point in a 40-37 win.
Team:
R Yeomans, Ros Yeomans, K Smale, D Clark 22-19; G Croud, L Fox, S Parker, R Jennings 18-18.
