ONCE again Stratton was bathed in sunshine for the annual fete on June 30, one of the few days we have had so far this summer.

The fete was given a major boost from the good offices of Bond Oxborough Phillips who stepped in at the last moment with some much needed funding and promotion, replacing another sponsor. Stuart Mitchell did win a coconut later though!

The fete opened with a fanfare of trumpets provided by Bude Metric Brass to announce the arrival of the fete's King and Queen as elected by the Stratton Primary School children.
