DAVIDSTOW Moor became home to a multi-national military force over the weekend of July 30 and 31 as British, German and American forces, represented by re-enactment groups from across Cornwall and Devon, set up camp at The Davidstow Airfield and Cornwall at War Museum.

There was plenty of transport for the troops as The Military Vehicle Trust were also in attendance.

The fine weekend brought in hundreds of visitors to view the varying dioramas depicting the military of the 20th century.

The museum also had additional displays including a Spitfire simulator, WWII training films, airfield tours and the recently acquired V1 'doodlebug.'

Cornwall Aviation Ltd donated an hour's flight over Cornwall's wartime airfields which was won by a gentleman from Lezant.

On the Saturday evening, a military convoy set off for a visit to the former RNAS Treligga, near Delabole, courtesy of Mr Colin Davey, for a tour around the old airfield and range.

Proprietors of the museum, Steve and Sheila Perry extended their thanks to all those who attended and the many who helped to make the weekend a great success.
