Launceston In Bloom are keeping busy and have completed the weeding and planting at the flower beds in Tower Street, and are now planting hundreds of shrubs on the wall in St Thomas Road.

Last year, LIB planted daffodils and tulips which produced a magnificent display in early spring, but the team now want a continuous show and are now planting shrubs that will flower and look good all year round.

John Ellison, Chair of Launceston In Bloom explained: “We have just collected the 72 hanging baskets from around the town which we put up last June and we wish to thank everyone for watering them all summer especially as it has been such a dry summer. We have left the troughs over the doorway of Webbers in the square as they are still magnificent. Andrew Simpson tells me that he waters them every morning through the windows over the shop, so thank you once again Andrew for keeping them looking so beautiful they help to make our town square look so nice.”

Launceston in Bloom meet every Wednesday morning at 10.00am in differing location. After next Wednesday they shall be returning to Windmill Woods at Coronation Park.
