LAUNCESTON Fire Station open day was very well supported by the local community recently.
The fire crews were kept busy with many families attending the event and intrigued children delighting in seeing the fire engines up close.
Station officer Gary Chapman said: "We try to hold the open day every other year, it is a good opportunity for community engagement.
"It was a really good day, with great support. We didn't receive any calls either, so the day was uninterrupted."
Most popular was Nelson, the fire investigation dog, who was inundated with people petting him throughout the day.
