A SELECTION of 142 bottles of vintage collectors wine from Polson, Launceston, is up for auction with Stags.

The sale will be running until Thursday, June 19, and offers collectors the chance to purchase some really special bottles from an extensive collection.

This unique sale boasts 142 bottles of wine in 16 different categories comprising; French red wine, Italian red wine, Spanish red wine, Australian red wine, Portuguese red wine, South African red wine, Argentinian red wine, Chilean red wine, Lebanese red wine, German red wine, French white wine, Chilean white wine, New Zealand white wine, South African white wine, Champagne and dessert wine.

A Stags spokesperson said: “This collection is a result of many trips to France from the late 1990's to 2006, the vendor bought wines that he has stored as an investment opportunity. All wines have been stored in a cool, dry area and laid on their side. The wine has not been moved until being lotted for this sale.

“The wine is not guaranteed for drinking quality; however, this collection has been kept in excellent condition with superb ullage on the majority of bottles within the sale and there are a number of ‘birthday’ wines up for grabs over the next 10 days.”

Some of the top bottles include a 2000 Chateau Bellevue - Chollet Bordeaux, 2000 Chateau Les Murailles Bordeaux, 2004 Cristal Champagne, 2002 Alain Signe, 1990 Dom Perignon Champagne, 2002 Chateau Haut Reignac and 1998 Chateau Moulin De La Cassotte.

The auction is now live running from 7pm Monday, June 9, until Thursday, June 19, where lots will begin closing at 7pm sequentially. A collection day is scheduled for Friday, June 27, between 9am and 5pm.
