FOR the past two years Cornwall Care have made a commitment to donate £1 to a chosen charity for each survey that has been completed by a member of staff.
This year Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust was elected as Cornwall Care’s charity of choice.
The trust flies more than 700-lifesaving missions each year throughout Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
It takes on average 12 minutes to arrive on-scene on mainland Cornwall and takes about 30 minutes for the Isles of Scilly. They treat individual people on-scene or transport them to hospital, whatever treatment is needed — whether it be in Cornwall or hospitals throughout the UK.
Flying patients to hospital saves hours of travel time as well as lives.
Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust is a vital charity for the county and for the people who visit Cornwall. They have saved countless lives and provide a service that would otherwise be unavailable.
Cornwall Care has said they are proud to support the Air Ambulance and have managed to raised £447 for the charity.
Hayley Cayton, fundraising officer for Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust, said: “Thank you so much for choosing to support Cornwall Air Ambulance. As we receive no government funding towards our rescue missions, the support of the community really does make a difference. It ensures that we can continue to attend lifesaving missions in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.”
As a charity themselves, Cornwall Care can appreciate the support of fundraising and the benefits the public support provides.
Robert Black, chief executive for Cornwall Care, said: “We are committed to supporting charities and fundraising events. There are many benefits of fundraising and we are delighted to present Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust with the money we have raised through out employee engagement.”
