THE Holsworthy Rural Community Transport (HRCT) team held a cream tea event recently for all the staff and volunteer drivers by way of saying thank you for all their efforts and help during the year.

The volunteer drivers use their own cars to take people for all types of appointments — mainly medical travelling as far as Exeter, Plymouth and on occasions to Bristol.

Martin Prentice of HRCT said: “Last year they clocked up over 25,000 miles and their service is invaluable.

“If you have some spare time, like driving and keen to help others less fortunate, then give us a call on 01409 259001 or pop into the office in the Memorial Hall any day between 9am and 3pm. A payment of 45p/mile is made by the individual clients.”
