A SERVICE of remembrance was held in the parish church of St Minver on Sunday.

Prebendary Elizabeth Wild, priest-in-charge, conducted the service and was preacher.

Banners were carried in and brought to the altar by members of the youth organisations. During the sermon the young people made and placed poppies on a length of wire. St Minver Silver Band accompanied the singing and reader Dr David Elliott led prayers.

The wreaths were laid at the war memorial in the churchyard where a short act of remembrance was held and the ‘Last Post’ was played.
