THE St Endellion Summer Festival has been cancelled in light of the coronavirus outbreak.

The ‘sad’ announcement was made by Endelienta today, stating that the 2020 festival would not go ahead.

A spokesperson said: “In the context of the uncertainty around the Covid-19 virus, the organising committee felt that it would be inappropriate to continue planning the festival. While we hope that the situation will be much improved by late July, given the uncertainties that we are all facing, it was clear that we could not continue.”

The committee has said it is ‘very disappointed’ and ‘sad’ to be unable to hold the festival this year — the first time since its inception in 1958 — but added that it has the intention to bring the festival to fruition in 2021.
