CHILDREN at St Breward Primary School had a welcome surprise at the start of their new school year with the addition of a new climbing frame and play equipment which was installed over the summer holiday.
The school council had set its heart on an additional climbing frame after helping to design the play trail that was installed last year. They set about raising the £3,000 required by organising a series of events and requesting donations from various organisations.
The children organised a sponsored swim, a charity disco and a non-uniform day. In addition, the school council wrote letters requesting donations and made personal appearances in front of St Breward Parish Council, St Breward Carnival Committee and St Breward School PTA (Parent Teacher Association).
