Colourful plants and seedlings made a fitting spring welcome at St Breward's coffee morning.

The event was held on Saturday at St Breward Church.

In addition to the main raffle, there was one to win a gammon dinner won by Eric and Rosemary Lowe.

The tombola had a seasonal extra of Easter eggs while the book and bric-a-brac stalls had some interesting fresh donations.

Cakes, biscuits, scones, bread, biscotti and all manner of treats filled the ever-popular cake stall.

Parochial church council treasurer Caroline Hooper said: "Very many thanks to the stall holders, bakers, donors and participants for making the spring coffee morning such a happy and successful one. A profit of £316 was made."
