SOUTH West Water (SWW) has donated £1,000 towards Camelford's Christmas lights and fireworks display to make up for delays which have been encountered due to sewer works.
The finish of a £250,000 scheme to improve Camelford's sewer network has been delayed by two weeks as an additional fault has been discovered.
Fore Street will remain closed and traffic diverted until Friday, December 9, which includes the period of preparation and the day of the event.
The work was scheduled for completion on Friday, November 25 but has been prolonged by the discovery of other utility infrastructure encased in concrete beneath the road. SWW need to map this infrastructure to avoid damaging it during the work.
By way of apology, South West Water and its H5O partners are donating £1,000 towards Camelford's Christmas fireworks and helping traders promote the opportunity for pedestrianised shopping during the build-up to Christmas.
