SOUTH West Water Ltd faces a bill for nearly £20,000 after admitting two environmental breaches of regulations at Launcells (Grimscott).
The company, of Peninsula House, Rydon Lane, Exeter, pleaded guilty at Bodmin Magistrates' Court, on October 5, to two breaches of conditions of consent to discharge in respect of Launcells (Grimscott) Sewage Treatment Works by the treated effluent having an adverse impact on the receiving controlled waters.
The first offence was on or before June 10, 2009, and the second on May 13, 2010.
On the first offence South West Water was fined £4,000 and on the second £8,000.
They were ordered to pay £7,547.63 in Environment Agency costs and £15 victim surcharge.
The magistrates said that the company's guilty pleas was taken into account when sentencing.
A further similar allegation was withdrawn following a caution.
South West Water was given until Tuesday, November 2 to pay the balance of £19,562.63.
