OKSIGEN Theatre, based in Launceston, has announced that six of its students have achieved Distinctions in their recent LAMDA exams.
This year, six students from Oksigen Theatre entered the LAMDA exams in Solo Acting grade 5 and 6; an intense exam where students not only have to perform two monologues each, but have to be judged on their technique as well, including modulation, pronunciation, pauses, use of space, movement and more.
The students must understand their characters and be able to fluently talk in detail about the emotions and movements of their characters on stage, as well as being able to explain the staging of each monologue and show the knowledge of some of the points of the Stanislavski acting system.
Oksigen Theatre said on Facebook: “We are very proud to announce that all six students achieved Distinction in their grades with a 90-97% pass.
“It’s an unbelievable result, which could only be achieved by hard work and serious attitude towards the whole process.”
They added: “Well done girls! You made Oksigen Theatre very proud!”
