Bradworthy came away from struggling Hartland with a much deserved three points to begin the New Year on a high. A frozen pitch, six goals and four penalties only told half the story in an end to end, action packed game.

The first penalty went the home side's way, Bradworthy's Gary Clarke was adjudged to have pushed Danny Gifford and Norman Foster coolly slotted the penalty away.

By this time Bradworthy had already created several good chances but forwards Alan Clarke and Luke Potter were unable to convert with the unpredictable, bobbly surface more than partly to blame.

Gary Clarke soon pulled Brad level, again from the spot, but moments later the midfielder was at the centre of the action again when he conceded another penalty for an identical tussle in the box with Hartland's Gifford. This time though Foster fired his spot kick over the bar and the sides went into the half time break level despite some late Hartland pressure.

Hartland started the second half positively but it was Brad's half time substitute Liam Curtis who found the net, prodding home Andy Cotton's driven cross at the second attempt.

Fellow substitute Lee Clarke came off the bench to score with his first touch, tapping in from close range after Ben Curtis' low ball across the six yard box.

Hartland were not going to give up easily though and had a free kick awarded on the edge of the box which they felt should have been a penalty before having a goal disallowed after a foul on Brad 'keeper Will Radford. They did get the ball in the net with ten minutes left on the clock, Danny Gifford rising highest to nod in from close range.

However the game was decided much the same way as it started, Carlo Chandler slotting home another penalty, after Ben Curtis was felled in the box to give the visitors all three points.
