A LARGE crowd is expected at the meeting of Bude/ Stratton Town Council tonight (Thursday) when six councillors have tabled a motion aimed at overturning the recent decision to slash the council tax precept to about 4.7 per cent. The original budget, which was thrown out at a stormy meeting in December, following a ratepayers' revolt, would have meant an approximate increase of 49 per cent with the precept for the coming financial year being set at £783,448.
