RE: PROPOSAL for sewage treatment works at Trevalga and Bossiney.

The residents of Trevalga and Trethevy practice the well-tested principle of 'think globally, act locally' by taking responsibility for our own sewage. To site a treatment works at Trevalga for the combined waste of Tintagel, Bossiney and Boscastle is totally unsuitable for the following reasons:

The installation is a distance from the communities it serves and intrudes upon open countryside;

This countryside is highly visible in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty which draws new and regular visitors and revenue from other parts of this country and all over the world;

Using the site requires several pumping stations which will, in these environmentally-conscious times, greatly increase CO2 emissions;

Trevalga has preserved an unspoilt village and landscape in keeping and respect for Gerald Curgenven who left the land in trust to ensure the continuity of historical character.

This proposal does not make sense.

Trethevy,

Tintagel.
