WANTING to spread a little musical love in their communities, on Saturday, August 4, North Coast Harmony donned their smart new uniforms, hired the new Boscastle Community Minibus, and embarked on a whistle-stop ‘pop-up tour’.

The pop-up tour saw the group sing three of their favourite songs at five locations.

Starting in Camelford at Enfield Park’s newly refurbished bandstand, they sang to an appreciative audience before hopping back on to the ‘tour bus’ to continue at Boscastle Farm Shop, Things Giftshop in Boscastle Harbour, and The Port William Inn at Trebarwith Strand, before finishing at The Crossbow, Tintagel, for carnival night.

North Coast Harmony are a small group of dedicated and hardworking women, who are striving to develop their voices, learn a varied repertoire of songs, and produce beautiful a cappella harmonies.

They are all very different, and many had never done anything like this before joining, but what they all have in common is a love and appreciation of music, a willingness to work at being the best they can be, and a commitment to supporting each other in that aim through friendship and teamwork — they also laugh, a lot!

They’re always looking for women to join them, so why not give it a go? All the skills a new member will need to learn to sing will be gained each week in a supportive and friendly environment, with likeminded women. There is some homework; just learning songs with recordings they provide, and practicing techniques learnt with the group.

North Coast Harmony meets on Tuesday evenings in Boscastle. If anyone is interested in joining them, or just want to know more, get in touch on 07814 992820, email [email protected], or visit their Facebook page Facebook.com/NorthCoastHarmony.
