A TEAM of students from Budehaven Community School has been announced as a winner in the national Apps for Good Awards, held on June 23 at the Barbican, London. The students' app, 'ShoreCast' won the 'My Planet' category, sponsored by Thomson Reuters. Their achievement was announced following an intensive pitching process to a panel of judges comprised of industry leaders and high profile figures. ShoreCast is designed to help find the best nearby surf spots with the most favourable conditions. The national Apps for Good Awards celebrated the next generation of problem solvers and digital creators; students who have created an app that tackles an everyday problem or issue they are passionate about.
